Franklin County, Ohio – Deputies Seize Over $26K in Cash During Traffic Stop

Franklin County deputies recovered more than $26,000 in cash Thursday during a traffic stop that also led to the arrest of two people on felony drug charges.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began July 24 when a deputy observed individuals “hastily” loading items into the trunk of a vehicle at the New Rome Motel. The vehicle was later pulled over for expired tags.

Deputies said the driver stopped at the Marathon gas station on West Broad Street at Evergreen Terrace, where a K9 unit was called to the scene. K9 Enzo allegedly alerted to several areas of the vehicle, prompting a search. Inside, deputies reportedly found bundles of cash totaling more than $26,000, along with approximately 48 grams of suspected cocaine and 477 grams of marijuana…
