Shooting leads police to bust of ‘tremendously dangerous’ carfentanil

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — An afternoon shooting in the city of Wyoming that left a man with a bullet in his leg put investigators on the path to a record seizure of carfentanil, which law enforcement called “tremendously dangerous.”

Wyoming police discovered the pound of carfentanil, as well as more than 2 pounds of cocaine, inside the apartment where Ramico J. Earvin was staying, court records show.

Authorities say it is the largest seizure of carfentanil locally and termed the potential of it being on the streets “unfathomable.”

“What this would do on the streets in terms of danger to the public I could hardly calculate,” Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker said. “It’s a tremendously dangerous drug.”…
