Man accused of murdering Tennessee family previously tried to kill prison guard, DA says

TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. – A man accused of murdering a Tennessee family had allegedly tried to kill a prison guard.

This new detail comes from 29th District Attorney Danny Goodman, who works cases in Dyer and Lake counties. FOX13 had previously reported that Austin Drummond, accused of killing four family members in West Tennessee, was out on bond on attempted murder charges at the time.

Drummond was serving a 13-year sentence for aggravated robbery when, according to Goodman, he tried to attack a guard at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville. The week he was released, Drummond was taken back in, booked again and bonded out…
