NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department has arrested a man who reportedly shot his girlfriend in the leg last month.
According to a news release from Metro police, 39-year-old Deangelo Derrick, who is a convicted felon, was arrested Thursday by the MNPD’s TITANS Unit detectives after he reportedly ran from them on Lewis Street and tossed a stolen gun.

Police said that Derrick was interviewed by detectives and admitted to shooting his girlfriend in the leg on July 20 after an argument. In addition, he allegedly told detectives that the gun he threw was the same one he used in the shooting.
