Highland man arrested twice in 24 hours for stalking, kidnapping charges

REDLANDS, Calif. — A Highland man was arrested twice in less than 24 hours last week on charges of stalking and violating a domestic violence protective order outside his former girlfriend’s Redlands home, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody late Wednesday night, Aug. 13, hours after being released from jail on the same charges from the day before, according to the department’s weekly police report released Thursday. In both cases, police said, he was found outside the victim’s home.

On Tuesday, officers found him hiding in a bush after reports he had sneaked into the victim’s yard and pressed his ear to her window to listen to her phone calls. During that investigation, the victim also reported being held against her will by the suspect outside her workplace a week earlier.
