Guns, body armor seized in South Side apartment

A 44-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after Chicago police and Illinois Department of Corrections agents allegedly found four loaded handguns, ammunition, and body armor in his South Side apartment.

Archie Kenerson is charged with eight counts of unlawful possession of a weapon or body armor by a felon following an IDOC “parole check” in the 2600 block of West 72nd Street.

According to a CPD report, officers and IDOC agents went to the apartment to check on a man, not Kenerson, who is on parole for aggravated domestic battery. Kenerson allegedly told the agents he had two handguns inside a pair of shoes in his bedroom…
