Semi-truck driver dies in fiery I-35 crash as another fights for his life

FRANKLIN CO., Kan. (KCTV) – A semi-truck driver from out of state is dead, as another fights for his life in a Kansas City hospital after a crash on I-35.

The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, emergency crews were called to the area of I-35 and Sand Creek Rd. with reports of a collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found Zachary Williams, 29, of Liberty, Tennessee, had been driving a 2023 Freightliner north on the interstate in the outside lane…
