HELP of Southern Nevada tries bringing hope to the homeless of Las Vegas streets

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — HELP of Southern Nevada’s Homeless Response Teams, led by Director Louis Lacey, is making strides in their mission to assist the homeless population in Las Vegas. During a recent outreach effort with News 3 in tow for the exclusive ride-along, Lacey and his team visited an abandoned church, where they encountered two individuals living in dire conditions.

“We want to save as many lives as we can,” said Lacey. “And saving someone’s life is not just saving someone from death; it may be saving them from this. And this is horrible. Nobody should live like this.”

The team, undeterred by the challenging environment, continued their outreach on the ride-along, encountering several people in need in a nearby parking lot, including a couple willing to share their story. Adam, one of the individuals, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the team…
