A shelter dog named Bozi had faced humane euthanasia at a county animal shelter in Gwinnett County, Georgia. In April he was rescued just in time and left for Monticello, Indiana where he began his K-9 training for both narcotics detection and helping to find missing people.
What was once a rough start for Bozi is now a promising career at the Monticello Police Department.
Animal Welfare Friends were instrumental rescuing Bozi, a three-year-old the Belgian Malinois. He was facing euthanasia – not because he had done anything wrong, but because he had been at the shelter too long, and space was limited. The shelter staff spent two months evaluating Bozi before deciding he was suitable for police work.
