BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — More than 4,000 people have signed the petition demanding an independent investigation into Kern County’s Child Protective Services.
The petition calls for a “thorough and independent” investigation into CPS in Kern County to find gaps in their practices, following the abuse and murder of 8-year-old Genesis Mata allegedly by the hands of her own father and stepmother.
