New York in need of vet techs across the state

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Trocaire College is putting out the call for students, reminding them of a two-year program that could lead to a lifelong career in a variety of fields helping our furry family members.

The National Center for Health Workforce Analysis projected the following shortages in 2037:

  • 36,820 dispensing opticians
  • 6,480 respiratory therapists
  • 9,140 physical therapists
  • 17,030 pharmacists
  • 4,430 podiatrists
  • 8,190 chiropractors

From opticians to chiropractors, there will be a gap. The animal health care industry is struggling as well, not just in vet clinics, but on the farm, too.
