ROSEBORO – What began as a personal effort to rebuild a family home has become a months-long dispute involving water contamination, property annexation, and questions over how sewer access should be handled for one Roseboro resident.
Willie Hill, who lives at 409 Johnson St., has been seeking to rebuild his residence after years of water quality concerns and septic system issues. But the process has stalled over a technical question: how to connect his property to the town sewer system when the most feasible route would cross land owned by his brother, Forrest Hill, at 406 Douglas St.
At Tuesday’s Roseboro Board of Commissioners meeting, the debate over how to resolve the issue filled a large portion of the agenda. Mayor Alice Butler and Town Attorney Sandy Sanderson spoke for the town, while Hill and his advocate, Connie Parker, urged action that would avoid further delays in his rebuild…
