Carlisle Police have charged 34-year-old Sehighya Latina Nicole Smith with kidnapping, interference with custody of children, and endangering the welfare of children following an incident on Wednesday, August 13.
At approximately 5:25 p.m., police responded to 224 S. Hanover Street for a reported abduction. Smith is accused of leaving a supervised visitation with her 9-year-old daughter, who is under the care of Cumberland County Children & Youth Services, without permission.
Investigators determined the child could be in danger if she remained in Smith’s custody. A vehicle registered to Smith was located by Susquehanna Township Police at about 7:30 p.m. at a hotel on N. Front Street in Dauphin County. Smith and her daughter were found there, and the child was unharmed…
