Brooklyn neighbors protest as $600 unpaid bill may force family to lose $1M home

EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (PIX11)– It’s a home that one family has owned outright for years, during which they built a strong reputation for paying bills on time and being responsible homeowners and landlords.

Despite that, the Brown Family is at risk of losing their multi-family home, thanks to a city practice that allows banks to take over some properties that are in arrears on small bills.
