Woman arrested in Louisville accused of stealing more than $148K from veterans

CINCINNATI (FOX 56) — A woman was arrested on Wednesday in Louisville after allegedly misappropriating money that she was managing on behalf of four United States military veterans.

The United States Attorney’s Office said 46-year-old Ishwanzya Rivers, of Cincinnati, allegedly made false statements to the federal government in an attempt to cover up the theft.

According to charging documents, Rivers stole more than $133,000 from a dying veteran who lived at the VA hospital in Cincinnati, allegedly misappropriating the money at least 45 times from June 2021 through November 2022.

The office said she also allegedly stole money from three other veterans, totaling more than $15,000…
