NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee’s unemployment rate in July was 3.6%, up slightly from a year ago. Nationally, the rate stands at 4.1%.
“Employers seem to want to hold onto workers but not hire many more,” Lipscomb University business professor Andy Borchers said. “They’re reluctant because they’re not sure they can maintain jobs. They don’t want to hire someone just to turn around and let them go.”
