ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Appalachian Power (APCo) wants those who go boating, kayaking, tubing and who also enjoy other recreational activities downstream of Leesville and Claytor dams to know that water levels on the New and Roanoke rivers could rise rapidly starting on Sunday, August 17, and possibly change levels through the early part of the next week, the power company said.
