Bryant police welcome fallen officer’s son to kindergarten

BRYANT, Ark. – Members of the Bryant Police Department gathered to welcome a fallen officer’s son to his first day of school Friday.

JP Peck, the son of Bryant Officer Tanner Peck, started his first day of kindergarten at the Hill Farm Elementary School with the encouragement from officers and school staff.

Officer Tanner Peck died in December 2024, and police officials said on social media that he and his son shared a very close bond.

“Officer Peck and his son shared a very close bond, and it was truly an honor to be there with JP as he begins this new journey,” the post read. “Good luck JP, we’re all rooting for you and hope you have the best school year ahead.”
