At a solemn vigil Thursday night, Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert presented a proclamation declaring June 12 a day of remembrance for the 13 victims who died that day in flash flooding that swept Northeast and West San Antonio.
To an audience of about 40 gathered at The Rock San Antonio, a nondenominational church just down the road from the main flood site, the commissioner promised that county leaders would work to prevent future tragedies.
