BCSO searches for man who attacked his elderly aunt and lit her home on fire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A local elderly woman is in the hospital after Bernalillo County deputies say her nephew attacked her and then set her home on fire.

BCSO have been looking for Richard Seago since it happened on Sunday, Aug. 10 in Sandia Heights.

KOB 4 obtained the body cam video from that night and the criminal complaint detailing the alleged crime. We also looked into Seago’s past and found he is a registered sex offender in New Mexico. According to BCSO, he has already confessed to the attack and arson.

The victim, 81-year-old Elizabeth Bass, called 911 saying she had been assaulted. She said she was woken up by someone picking her up and throwing her to the ground…
