{KXLG – South Dakota} A man from Sioux Falls and his mother from Luverne, Minnesota, have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and launder money.
According to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell, Sean Swiftbird, 27, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier to 11 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. His mother, Laurie Swiftbird, 67, received a two-year federal prison sentence, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Both were ordered to pay a special assessment of $200.
