60-year-old homeless man was ACOD in March
SLINGERLANDS — A homeless man with a history of incidents at the Market 32 was back in trouble on July 21 for allegedly stealing items from the store. He was banned from entering the New Scotland Road store from prior incidents, for which he was overdue in court—so the charges were elevated to burglary.
According to reports, loss-prevention employees at the store witnessed Paul McMahon, 60, conceal merchandise in a reusable bag and leave the store without making an attempt to pay for it. The responding officer recognized McMahon from prior interactions with him.
He was taken into custody near the CDTA bus stop and charged with burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. This was not the first time McMahon had trouble at the store…
