Charleston, S.C. – Streets in Charleston and North Charleston are flooding Saturday afternoon as intense thunderstorms sweep across southeastern South Carolina, triggering Flash Flood Warnings across multiple counties.
According to the National Weather Service offices in Columbia and Charleston, radar estimates show 1 to 3 inches of rain already falling in parts of Aiken, Barnwell, and Charleston counties, with another 1 to 3 inches possible through mid-afternoon. Officials warn that flash flooding is either underway or imminent, particularly in low-lying areas and along major roadways.
