CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Good morning. The work and school day is getting off to a rather sunny start. We’ll see partly sunny skies, seasonably warm temperatures, and a few showers. A light northeasterly wind is expected to lower humidity a bit, however, humidity and temperatures will rise by Sunday into next week. A series of cold fronts will bring a few showers and storms throughout next week, and will eventually cool temperatures by the end of the week. Tropical Storm Erin is getting stronger, and is expected to become a hurricane later today. Forecast models continue to keep it east of the Atlantic coast. Dangerous rip currents will be in place for coastal areas for much of next week. We’ll keep you updated. Have a great and safe weekend !
