Driver dies after car goes over East 9th Street Pier and into Lake Erie

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A man died after his car went over the East 9th Street Pier and into the waters of Lake Erie.

According to the Cleveland Division of Fire, their crews responded to the pier around 2:45 a.m. Saturday where Cleveland police advised that a vehicle was in the water at the end of the pier.

The vehicle was submerged about 100 feet offshore with its tail lights visible, Cleveland Fire said.
