Amtrak train stuck for hours near Battle Creek

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Passengers were stuck on an Amtrak train near Battle Creek for several hours Friday night due to a mechanical problem.

At 7:14 p.m., a passenger train developed a mechanical problem, Amtrak said in a statement to News 8. After the problem couldn’t be fixed, passengers were removed from the train.

Buses arrived at the railroad crossing around 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of 11 Mile Road and E Drive North to pick up passengers, according to Calhoun County dispatch. Customers were then taken to their destinations.
