Community Standards – not residents – should be finding violations

I gave a proposal to every CDD that outlined how Community Standards could, with just one full-time employee, take on the task of identification of Deed Restriction violations in The Villages. It takes just 160 hours for Community Watch patrol drivers to drive every street in The Villages. If a Community Standards employee drove every street once per quarter, they would only use up 160 hours of their 480 available hours per quarter.

A Community Standards person trained and knowledgeable on the Deed Restrictions, which vary by neighborhood and CDD, would only be identifying valid violations. This person would provide a non-biased consistent inspection of all residents in The Villages. The result would be uniform inspection throughout The Villages independent on whether or not an area had residents concerned with the appearance of their neighborhood…
