Active shooter report in downtown San Diego unfounded

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Police Department on Friday received a report of an active shooter in downtown San Diego that turned out to be false.

Around 11:50 a.m., authorities received a call of an active shooter in the area of 600 C St., SDPD said in a Facebook post at 1:01 p.m.

When authorities arrived on scene, they determined there was no active shooter and no threat to the public.
