LA man injured after speeding away from border inspection

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Los Angeles man was injured after Border officers fired at him as he sped off from an inspection while attempting to cross into the United States from Mexico in southern San Diego.

The San Diego Police Department on Friday identified the suspect as 59-year-old Humberto Chavarria-Cervantes of Los Angeles.

The police department reports Chavarria-Cervantes is suspected of attempting to enter into the United States from Mexico by the Otay Mesa Port of Entry at 9 p.m. Monday, but sped off when referred to secondary inspection…
