Brunswick Community College recently got a $500,000 boost for a program designed to respond to the needs of local employers.
The Golden LEAF Foundation awarded the money to BCC for its newly launched industrial maintenance program, allowing the school “to expand training opportunities, invest in state-of-the-art equipment and strengthen Brunswick County’s skilled workforce,” BCC officials stated in an email.
According to Greg Bland, BCC’s vice president of continuing education and economic and workforce development, industrial maintenance professionals are “the unsung heroes of modern industry.”…
