SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Erie Canal wasn’t the only one celebrating a triple-digit milestone this weekend. Syracuse neighbor Charlotte Wilcox turned 100 years old, and dozens of family members and friends gathered to honor her on her big day.
The Wilcox family rented out the banquet hall at Jake Hafner’s Restaurant and Tavern, a place with special meaning since Charlotte’s granddaughter once worked there. The menu was filled with some of Charlotte’s favorites, including sirloin tips over noodles and chicken and biscuits a birthday dish the guest of honor calls the best you can get.
