Fred Bachmann, founder of Bachmanns Pools, Spas & Saunas, shares his story.
Our journey began in 1985 when I started Bachmanns Pools, Spas & Saunas. This year marks our 40th anniversary, and it is a reminder of how far we have come. My wife, Kiya, has been by my side for all except the early years. This year marks her 25th anniversary with the business. It has been an incredible journey building this company together, from the ground up.
We recently received the Locksin Thompson award, the most coveted honor in the hot tub industry. For 35 years, this award has been presented annually to only the top worldwide leader. The committee that makes the decision is comprised of industry leaders who have seen it all. I remember attending these conferences more than three decades ago, watching my mentors receive this award, and saying, “Someday, I’ll be up there.” Looking back, it’s been the journey that’s been the most rewarding, not just the recognition.
Through this 40-year journey, the Locksin Thompson award has always been my North Star, guiding me to continually improve and focus on what matters most: an unwavering commitment to delivering quality, customer satisfaction, and sense of wellness and happiness. Bachmanns has checked all the boxes to be granted this award. We have developed a strategic initiative system with our team leaders.
With our core values always being at the center, we have empowered every employee to constantly improve every aspect of the business. This team empowerment practice will also ensure a smooth transition for our customers into the next generation and beyond.
