Scottsdale’s tourism industry has reached new heights, according to the city’s annual tourism study, with more than 11 million visitors in 2024, bumping up the economic impact to a whopping $3.7 billion. This surge in tourism has proven to be a boon not only for local businesses but also for job seekers, as the sector now supports over 36,000 jobs in hospitality and related fields.
A breakdown of the numbers, as reported by the City of Scottsdale, shows an uptick of 300,000 domestic overnight travelers from the previous year, totaling 4.9 million, while international overnight visitors increased by 127,000 to 1.7 million. Contributing to the city’s attractions, 5.1 million day-trippers were also recorded. Travelers are apparently eager to indulge in the range of experiences Scottsdale offers, from outdoor adventures to arts and culture, luxury amenities, and, not to mention, the city’s signature events that attract a substantial number of attendees each year.
Offering a statement, Experience Scottsdale President and CEO Rachel Sacco emphasized the competitive nature of the tourism industry, stating, “Our visitors can choose anywhere in the world, and they choose to come to Scottsdale year after year,” as per the City of Scottsdale.
