Homeowners and renters facing financial and housing challenges can receive free housing counseling later this month in Orange County.
The Shalom Center, a nonprofit approved by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), announced it will host a counseling event on August 23 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Korean American Federation of Orange County (9876 Garden Grove Blvd., Garden Grove). The event will be held in partnership with several nonprofit organizations.
The program is designed to assist homeowners at risk of foreclosure by offering free legal and housing counseling. Mortgage lenders and nonprofit groups specializing in housing and rental issues will provide direct help so that homeowners do not lose their properties due to repayment difficulties.
Through one-on-one counseling, participants will receive personalized solutions, including repayment plans, loan modifications, extensions, or interest reductions. Counselors will also help communicate with lenders and guide clients through lender-specific relief programs…
