BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — A former Blount County teacher who pleaded guilty last year to five counts of “offensive touching” of students will have his teaching license suspended for three years, the Tennessee State Board of Education decided Friday.
The board voted 7–2 to suspend Joseph Dalton’s license and require him to complete 50 hours of training focused on classroom behavior.
During the suspension, Dalton must also be evaluated by a clinician, and the clinician’s recommendations will be presented to the board after three years. At that point, the board will decide whether to reinstate his license…
