LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Texas Roadhouse parking lot in Beaumont Centre was overtaken by people in matching shirts and unique costumes on Saturday evening.
Twenty companies and organizations from around the area formed teams to take part in the 2025 Special Olympics Big Brown Truck Pull. The goal is to see who could pull an 85,000-pound UPS truck 12 feet in the shortest amount of time.
Breathitt County charity organization creates new initiative in honor of Jackson child
Organizers said the event is a fun way to raise money for a good cause and to highlight that Special Olympics is about more than just sports.
“We also have health screenings and leadership classes just to help make our athletes with intellectual disabilities better helpers in our community,” said Mallory Jent, Development Events Director of Special Olympics Kentucky. “They do matter, and we are trying to give them that platform to get confident in themselves and on the field.”
