Following a federal grand jury indictment, Joseph Allen Davis, a 19-year-old resident of Sacramento, faces charges related to firearm possession by a convicted felon. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the indictment issued connects to a prior incident dated April 12, where Davis allegedly engaged in a shooting that injured three at Rainbow City Park in Davis.
After the shooting at Rainbow City Park, law enforcement started an investigation on Davis, implicating him in the gunfire exchange. Executing a search warrant at Davis’s apartment, officers discovered a short-barrel AR-15-style pistol. Given Davis’s history, having a felony gun possession on record, possessing the firearm contravened legal stipulations. The series of these events, as stated by U.S. Attorney Eric Grant, illustrate a depiction of accountability sought against firearms misuse and violent crime.
