Grocery Outlet has gone bicoastal with its recent store openings, as the discount grocer has opened new locations in California and New Jersey. News of the openings was first reported by Progressive Grocer, a Store Brands sister publication.
In Chico, Calif., co-owner/operator Chris Hostettler reopened the Grocery Outlet he has run since 2009 in a new location at 2160 Pillsbury Road, which previously housed a CVS Pharmacy. To mark the occasion, the owners provided a donation to three local nonprofit groups and handed out free reusable bags during opening week.
On the East Coast, a new Grocery Outlet is now open in Medford, N.J. Under the stewardship of owner/operators AdriAnna and Amarys Foley, the store at the Village at Taunton Forge development occupies a space that once housed a Murphy’s supermarket…
