The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has reported a recent string of burglaries at an apartment complex in Southeast Shelby County. According to a social media post from the department, detectives delved into an investigation in July after a spike in reported thefts from Miller Creek Apartments’ garages and storage units. The breakthrough came on July 28, when deputies were alerted to an ongoing burglary and swiftly apprehended two male suspects.
The swift arrest was credited to patrol deputies who responded promptly, catching the suspects in the act. As the investigation unfolded, officers identified the duo as 45-year-old Adan Escobar and an underage boy, who reportedly served as a lookout while Escobar broke into the storage units. Detectives unearthed that the crime spanned across a six-day window and garnered enough evidence to associate the suspects with the burglaries.
Continuing their proactive approach, detectives of the SCSO Property Crimes and B.R.A.T. unit executed a search warrant at a residential address on Watson St., where they recovered items tied to the burglaries.
