Wilmington Man Arrested After Police Recover Loaded Handgun, Ammunition

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have charged a city man with a firearms offense after officers say they recovered a loaded handgun and ammunition during an encounter earlier this week.

According to authorities, the arrest occurred on August 13, 2025, at approximately 5:51 p.m., when members of the Safe Streets Task Force were patrolling the 800 block of Spruce Street. Detectives observed an individual acting suspiciously and made contact with him.
