Oahu drivers brace for 5-year Nimitz Highway lane closures for City Rail Project

HONOLULU (Island News) – Oahu drivers should prepare for significant traffic changes beginning next week.

Starting on Monday, Aug. 18, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation will close one lane in each direction on Nimitz Hwy between ‘Awa and Bishop St.

This closure, along with restrictions on Iwiliei Road, will last 24/7 for the next five years as part of the City Center Rail Project…
