Trash tour: See how Hawaii’s trash is managed with ‘Tour de Trash’

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Ever wondered what happens to your trash after you throw it away?

Hawaii ranks number one in most reliable utility services in the nation

Starting Saturday, Aug. 23, the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Environmental Services is hosting “Tour de Trash: Recyclers and Waste Processors Tour”.

The tour will offer residents a behind-the-scenes look at how Oʻahu’s waste management is managed, recycled, and transformed.

“By seeing the process up close, people gain a better understanding of how their choices at home directly impact our environment,” said Roger Babcock, Department of Environmental Services Director. “Itʻs a great way to inspire more mindful habits that benefit the entire community.”…
