COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Stewart’s Shops has opened a new location on Central Avenue in Colonie, the company announced on Monday. It is situated at 1273 Central Avenue.

According to Stewart’s, the new shop features 12 gas pumps, a double turbo oven, soup and chili crocks, a large beer cave and multiple coolers. With its opening, Stewart’s now operates 39 shops throughout Albany County.
The store, which reportedly cost $3.9 million, sits on the former property of Grandma’s Pies & Restaurant. The eatery, which opened in 1976, closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was demolished in 2024.

Stewart’s will hold a grand opening event on Friday. The shop will offer deals on pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs and gas, as well as free hot coffee and single-scoop ice cream cones. The company will also donate $1,000 to the Village of Colonie Family Center in celebration.
According to the Stewart’s website, the new shop will be open everyday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Stewart’s also has locations at 1560 Central Avenue and 2005 Central Avenue.
