Charleston, SC Weather: Thunderstorms Return Tuesday Afternoon With Gusty Winds Up to 24 MPH

CHARLESTON, S.C. – After a hot and sunny start to the week, Charleston residents should prepare for unsettled weather beginning Tuesday afternoon as storms move across the Lowcountry.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected after 2 p.m. Tuesday, bringing gusts up to 24 mph and lightning risks along coastal areas. Storms will remain possible through the evening before clearing late Tuesday night.

Wednesday carries another round of rain, with showers possible after 11 a.m. and a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms into the night. Temperatures will stay seasonably hot, topping out near 89 degrees midweek.
