(WNY News Now) – MAYVILLE, N.Y. – A Portville woman faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident while driving intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded on August 8, 2025, at approximately 3:12 p.m. to a traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of Route 394 and Route 430 in Mayville. Upon arrival, officers were informed that one of the vehicles involved had left the scene.
A short time later, deputies located the vehicle at a residence and identified the driver as Penny A. Payne, 66, of Portville, N.Y. An investigation determined that Payne was operating her vehicle while intoxicated…
