A church in unincorporated southeast Ocala is asking for permission from the county to offer private elementary schooling to up to 120 children.
The special use permit request from Wings of Faith Church is part of the Marion County Board of County Commissioner’s consent agenda on Tuesday, August 19. All consent agenda items are enacted with one vote.
In July, the Marion County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the request.
The church, which is located at 5066 SE 64th Avenue Road, is hoping to use its existing campus in Ocala to create a private school that would have capacity for approximately 120 students. The school would serve students from kindergarten to fifth grade.
