Lancaster Man Charged with Assaulting Kids with Metal Hangers

A Lancaster County man, Akai Jesus Rosario, aged 39, has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly striking three children with metal coat hangers. The children, aged between four and six, were reportedly left with bruises and lacerations on their backs. The incident was reported by the children’s father on June 30, who stated that Rosario was staying with the children’s mother at the time of the assault.

According to a criminal complaint, the children were taken to the York County Children and Youth Center, where they reported the abuse. Despite Rosario’s claim that he only threatened to hit the children with the hanger, two of the children told their parents that “Akai whooped us,” leading to the injuries.

Rosario is facing five felony charges, including aggravated assault of a victim less than six years old and endangering the welfare of children. He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing, and his bail has not yet been set…
