Scorching heatwave triggers Fire Weather Watch for LA as wildfires continue

The National Weather Service has released a Fire Weather Watch warning for the surrounding Los Angeles areas, valid from Wednesday at 9 a.m. until Saturday at 9 p.m. High winds, thunderstorms, low humidity, and a significant heat wave are expected.

Wildfires have been raging across California this Summer, with 354,878 acres burned in total.

According to Cal Fire, wildfire activity is already trending above normal in both northern and southern California. The north of the state saw a sharp rise in daily fires during May, with notable grassland incidents like the Midway and Catlett fires.
