BATON ROUGE, La. (WNTZ) – The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission will hold a news conference Wednesday to address what officials call a growing pedestrian safety crisis in the state.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on the LSU campus, 3838 W. Lakeshore Drive.
According to the commission, more pedestrians than passengers have been killed in motor vehicle crashes in Louisiana over the past decade. The conference will bring together experts in law enforcement, transportation, public health and fitness to discuss solutions.
