Soul City Solar, a project by Apex Clean Energy, is now accepting applications for its Fall 2025 Community Grant Program, offering $1,000 to $10,000 in funding for grassroots organizations, schools, law enforcement agencies, and nonprofits working to make life better in Hinds County.
Since launching, the program has invested more than $200,000 into over 20 organizations across Bolton, Clinton, Jackson, Raymond, Utica, and Edwards. The Program has supported initiatives from STEM education and youth programs to public safety, and community beautification.
“Real progress happens when we invest in the communities we serve,” said Quita Bride, Public Engagement Manager for Soul City Solar. “We’re proud to stand alongside those who are creating lasting change and building a stronger future right here at home.”
The Fall 2025 funding cycle is open through August 29, with awards announced in October. Grants will be considered for initiatives in four focus areas:
- Safe and Healthy Communities
- Economic Development
- Environmental Sustainability
- Education
Past grantees say the impact is tangible.
